Management & Assistance with Warranty Problems

Even in the reliable world we live in, mechanical products can still breakdown and normally at the wrong times. We can help you to identify who is liable and whom you should be contacting. We know it can sometimes be with so many people & companies potentially involved in the supply chain.

Our job for you is to manage this situation, making sure that the liability and any costs remain with the relevant company/companies, until problems have been resolved. Our aim is to sort the problem on your behalf quickly & efficiently.

Most products & equipment supplied from the UK today have a standard 1 years manufacturers legal warranty, and some products also have extended warranty terms. Generally, if your boat is winterised for 6 months of the year, this still forms part of your 1 year warranty period. This can be sometimes be very inconvenient. If you were to have a product failure after 18 months (technically outside of the manufacturers warranty) but you only used your boat for, lets say 150 hours - YOU would then have to cover the repair costs. Manufacturers do sometimes assist, and may give part of the repairs as goodwill, so it is always worth contacting them. What SOS 24:7 Ltd does for you is manage this process, investigating the problem, contacting manufacturers and following the whole thing through to a satisfactory conclusion.

If you feel you have a genuine warranty failure and have been unable to make any progress with it, we will again research and assess the problem for you, and see if we can help.

Because we will hold most of the relevant technical data for your boat on our records combined with our technical background we will be in a better position to contact the right people to ensure the fastest possible response to your problem.

General warranty backup is covered in your annual membership fees, but sometimes a more complicated or lengthy situation may incur extra charges. These charges will take the form of either a flat fee of £50.00 inc VAT, or a percentage of the final claim value (usually 10%) up to a maximum of £200.00 inc VAT. You will of course be informed in advance if this applies in your case. You will then have the opportunity to decide if you wish us to proceed.

All customers will be regularly updated on the progress of their claim.

While we will do all in our power to help with genuine warranty issues, we reserve the right not to take on the matter if we believe a claim to be unjust.
